H Hillrock’s oldest release to date, the story of this remarkable Single Malt Rye Whiskey began with our 2013 harvest. Aged for 10 years and four months in new American oak and ex-bourbon barrels, Exceptional Cask #4 was meticulously crafted from 100% estate-grown rye which was floor malted, fruit wood smoked, copper pot-distilled, aged, and bottled on site. This extremely limited offering represents Hillrock’s first Single Malt Rye in two years and the only to be released in 2024.

Single Malt Rye Exceptional Cask #4 brings forth a delicate profile of crystallized ginger, creme brulee, and rye spice. Layers of caramel unfold as this complex malted rye whiskey delights the palate and subtle, smoke notes from estate-harvested applewood and cherrywood emerge on the finish. The unique terroir of Hillrock estate grown grain, our traditional floor malting practices, and fruitwood smoke create a complex and truly singular whiskey.
